Happy 1st Birthday Phoebe!

My beautiful baby girl is 1-year-old now! Our family helped Phoebe celebrate the occasion with a small party at home for her. She had the most adorable pink and green striped cake. Since it was only going to be the 5 of us, I ordered a small 6-inch, 2-layer cake. It was perfect and so delicious.

I was surprised to see how much Phoebe enjoyed the cake. She could have easily eaten the whole thing by herself. She was so different from the boys on their first birthdays. They were a little unsure whether they liked the sugary cake and frosting. Phoebe, on the other hand, didn't pause for a second. As soon as I set her piece of cake in front of her, she inhaled it!

July 4, 2009!

This year, Chris and I celebrated our country's independence at a white-trash-themed 4th of July party! Hosted by our good friends, Chris and Charity, the party was filled with hilarious costumes and the best white-trash food selections around.

Okuma ~ June 2009

Chris and I took the kids to Okuma for a mini-vacation for a couple of days. Okuma is a beach resort area on the northern part of Okinawa. It is filled with lots of activities (putt-putt golf, buggy bikes, pedal cars, batting cages, go-carts, bungee trampoline, all sorts of boats, jet skis, kayaks, parasailing, snorkeling, and diving). There are places for tent camping, and cabins and suites for rent.

We met some of our friends and their families there. We had a blast, even though the weather was a little rough at times. The beaches were beautiful, and we enjoyed spending the weekend with great friends!

Trying to catch up :)

This is only my 6th blog post, and I've already fallen off the wagon. I have a few weeks worth of pics to post, so I'll try to catch up in the next couple of days! I really want to set some time aside to document what is happening with our family. I love the idea of being able to share it with our children when they are older, as well as being able to look back on how they have grown over the years.
