Another day at the beach!

We promised the kids a day at the beach, so we packed up the car and headed to Torii Beach. It is the kids' favorite beach, because not only does it have the beach and ocean, it has water fountains to play in.

Wyatt's Birthday Party

We celebrated Wyatt's 2nd birthday with a party in the park. It was a great afternoon filled with food, friends, and a bounce house for the kids!

Happy 1st Birthday Phoebe!

My beautiful baby girl is 1-year-old now! Our family helped Phoebe celebrate the occasion with a small party at home for her. She had the most adorable pink and green striped cake. Since it was only going to be the 5 of us, I ordered a small 6-inch, 2-layer cake. It was perfect and so delicious.

I was surprised to see how much Phoebe enjoyed the cake. She could have easily eaten the whole thing by herself. She was so different from the boys on their first birthdays. They were a little unsure whether they liked the sugary cake and frosting. Phoebe, on the other hand, didn't pause for a second. As soon as I set her piece of cake in front of her, she inhaled it!

July 4, 2009!

This year, Chris and I celebrated our country's independence at a white-trash-themed 4th of July party! Hosted by our good friends, Chris and Charity, the party was filled with hilarious costumes and the best white-trash food selections around.

Okuma ~ June 2009

Chris and I took the kids to Okuma for a mini-vacation for a couple of days. Okuma is a beach resort area on the northern part of Okinawa. It is filled with lots of activities (putt-putt golf, buggy bikes, pedal cars, batting cages, go-carts, bungee trampoline, all sorts of boats, jet skis, kayaks, parasailing, snorkeling, and diving). There are places for tent camping, and cabins and suites for rent.

We met some of our friends and their families there. We had a blast, even though the weather was a little rough at times. The beaches were beautiful, and we enjoyed spending the weekend with great friends!

Trying to catch up :)

This is only my 6th blog post, and I've already fallen off the wagon. I have a few weeks worth of pics to post, so I'll try to catch up in the next couple of days! I really want to set some time aside to document what is happening with our family. I love the idea of being able to share it with our children when they are older, as well as being able to look back on how they have grown over the years.

The cutest boys ever...

I am so lucky to have such wonderful children. Last week it rained for 10 straight days. Here is a pic of my sons sharing an umbrella.

I took these next pics a couple of weeks ago. I woke one morning to find Wyatt snuggled in Jack's bed with him.

Happy Birthday Kellee!

This weekend we joined our friends for Kellee's birthday celebration. We started the night out at Tropicana for a delicious dinner. There was beef, chicken, pork, and veggies. There was even some cow tongue for the more adventurous eaters in our group.

Then we headed to a really beautiful martini bar called Niche. It was a great place, but at $10 a drink, we just had one round!

The Girls at Niche: Lauren, Kellee, Charity, Jessica, Amie, me, Laura, and Joleen

From Niche, we walked upstairs to a karaoke bar where we spent the rest of the evening. Our friend Chris even treated the bar to a few songs on the guitar. He was great, and the whole bar was singing along!

Dinner at Sam's by the Sea - followed by Good Times!

Last Saturday evening we met our friends at Sam's By the Sea for a delicious steak and seafood dinner in honor of Jessica's 25th birthday!

My dinner arrived on a flaming sword.

Then we made our way to the hookah bar,

and to another bar to hear a live band play, then on to Good Times for a little karaoke and a mojo! Another great weekend!

I'm a little bit country...

This weekend Chris and I joined some friends for dinner, drinks, dancing, and a little bull-riding. We met Kellee, Mike, Charity, Chris, Laura, Robby, Jessica, and Brian at Chili's for a bite to eat, and then cabbed it down a long, dark, winding dirt road to WESTERN WORLD, Okinawa's answer to country-western--complete with line dancing and a mechanical bull.

Chris getting ready to ride the bull.

Then it was my turn!

FYI: Riding a mechanical bull is tougher than it looks.
